Aaron Zart (lead) joined the Barbershop Harmony Society in 2010 when he started singing with his hometown chorus, the Lincoln Continentals in Lincoln, Nebraska. He served as their assistant director and eventually became a co-director. He also founded and directed Nebraska’s first youth barbershop chorus, The Good Life Chorus.
Aaron is the only one in the quartet who actually makes his living with music. He has been teaching high school choir for a decade now. After graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (Go Big Red!), he moved to the St. Louis area and served four years as the assistant choral director at Troy Buchanan High School. He then returned to Lincoln, where he was the head choral director at his alma mater, Lincoln East High School for another four years. Now, he is back in St. Louis and is serving students as a choral director at Pattonville High School and singing with the Ambassadors of Harmony (AoH).
Aaron is also an administrator for Acappellooza Summer. He has served the Central States District previously as Awards Chairman and Youth Outreach VP.
He spends most of his free time arranging music for vocal ensembles around the country, rooting for a very challenging Husker football team, seeing his favorite comedians, watching hockey, enjoying all things Tolkien, hiking in National Parks, and working on his home and yard with his beautiful wife, Jacqueline, and their three crazy dogs – Meeko, Penny, and Roland.
